Hana
About
Hana is a care coordination platform. It uses voice AI and SMS to keep a health service in contact with its patients between appointments, and to turn what those patients say into something the care team can act on.
A voice calls the patient, introduces itself as the clinic, and has a real conversation about how they are actually doing. It writes a structured note back to the team afterwards. SMS carries the lighter and more frequent work: check-ins, reminders, short questionnaires, and reaching people who did not pick up. It is the same voice every time, so the patient builds a relationship with it, and both channels work in the patient's own language.
The problem it addresses is capacity, not technology. Every clinic and every hospital department has a list of patients somebody is supposed to follow up with, and nobody ever gets to the bottom of it. This is not carelessness. There are not enough clinical hours in the day. So the patients who go quiet stay quiet, and the service learns how they are doing at the next appointment, or when something has already gone wrong.
That gap matters most where recovery is long and happens at home.
Rehabilitation after injury. PTSD and the slower consequences of the war. Chronic conditions that are managed for years rather than treated once. In all three, the months between appointments are what decide the outcome, and they are exactly the months nobody can staff.
What Hana does not do, stated plainly, because it is what clinicians ask first. It does not practise medicine; it records and flags what a patient reports and never interprets it clinically. It does not handle emergencies; there is a handoff to a person. It does not require integration with an electronic health record to begin, because outreach runs from a patient list.
