About
DYNAMICURE (UMR 1311) is a joint research unit affiliated with INSERM, University of Rouen Normandie, and University of Caen Normandie. The unit focuses on the dynamics of microbial pathogens associated with respiratory and urinary infections, two major public-health challenges. It brings together clinicians, microbiologists, virologists, epidemiologists, and basic scientists from the university hospitals of Rouen and Caen, creating a strong translational research environment that links clinical cohorts with experimental and genomic approaches.
The research program investigates microbial evolution, host–pathogen interactions, and the ecological and epidemiological dynamics that drive the emergence and persistence of infectious diseases. The unit integrates genomic and metagenomic approaches, high-throughput sequencing, and microbiome analysis to study pathogen diversity, adaptation mechanisms, and antimicrobial resistance.
DYNAMICURE benefits from strong clinical networks through the CHU hospitals of Rouen and Caen and participates in national reference activities and international collaborations in infectious disease research. The unit promotes interdisciplinary and “One Health” approaches to better understand pathogen emergence across human, animal, and environmental reservoirs.
