Selçuk University was established in 1975 and as of today, Selçuk University is among the leading higher education institutions of our country with 23 faculties, 7 institutes, 5 colleges, 23 vocational schools, 53 research and application centers, 1 state conservatory and around 69,000 students. As of 2022, Selçuk University has a total of 3,045 academic staff and 4.210 administrative staff. Selcuk University is, according to the figures released by the Turkish Statistics Institute, larger than 10 provincial centers and, according to the international publications data released by the Higher Education Council (HEC), ranks 8th. According to the results of monitoring and evaluating the performances of "research capacity", "research quality" and "interaction and collaboration", Selçuk University is one of the five candidate research universities supported by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) in terms of academic staff and budget opportunities.
Selcuk University has 9 awards from “the Barrier-Free University Awards” (as 2 orange, 5 green and 2 blue flags). Also, it has “Institutional Accreditation Certificate” from Turkish Higher Education Quality Council. According to THE 2022 Impact Rankings, Selcuk University is ranked 100+ globally and 4th nationally in terms of quality education. In the Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure subcategory, Selcuk University is listed 200+ globally. According to EduRank 2022, Selcuk University is 15th in Türkiye and 294th in Asian universities. Also, Selcuk University is the most 431st green campus in accordance with GreenMetric system data.
As a result of the quality-oriented studies of Selçuk University was entitled to receive the TS EN ISO 9001-2015 Quality Management System Certificate. According to Scopus data of Scimago Institute 2020, our university is ranked in the top 8 universities in our country and 678 in world's ranking. 2.483 foreign students from 114 countries, including France, Germany, Israel, Afghanistan, Thailand, Sweden and Norway, receive education at our university. The university has also 341 laboratories and over 53 research and application centers. Konya Technopark provides offices for rental to technology companies. Founded in late 2004, Konya Technopark is one of the fastest developing technoparks in Turkey with its more than 117 R&D companies, includes 27 incubation, 13 preincubation companies with 220 R&D employees. With the inception of EU Research and Application Center, over 200 bilateral agreements were signed within the framework of Erasmus+. An Erasmus House that is the only one of its kind in Turkey, was built at Selcuk University to meet the accommodation needs of foreign students.
Selcuk University has embraced the understanding of being; active, prosperous, focused on superior performance, aiming to becoming a world university with its international recognition and innovative nature. Selçuk University also contributes to social life with 53 research centers. In this respect, the Women, Family and Community Services Application and Research Center within the university conducts studies with an entrepreneurial spirit on the solution of women's problems. In particular, our research center is working intensively to prevent women from falling behind in educational processes, to increase the employment of the female population and the quality of the workforce. In addition, Selcuk University has a unit for the Disabled Students. It works for determining students' academic, administrative, physical, psychological, accommodation and social needs. Selcuk University IRO Office entered the system of UNESA- DIMETRIC. This system aims to initiate inclusive services for people with disabilities in universities.
