About

LUMSA University: A Center of Academic Integrity and Research Innovation Founded in 1939 as the second oldest university in Rome, LUMSA University is a non-state Italian institution grounded in Catholic principles. It is fully integrated into the national university system, offering degrees that hold equivalent legal standing to those from state universities.

Student-Centric Philosophy LUMSA places students at the core of its mission. With a student body of approximately 9,000, the university maintains a direct and continuous relationship with its faculty. It is not merely an academic institution but also a platform for holistic personal development, seamlessly blending humanistic tradition, Catholic roots, and technological innovation.

Robust Academic Framework LUMSA operates around three key departments: Law, Economics, Politics and Modern Languages in Rome; Law, Economics, and Communication in Palermo; and Human Sciences, encompassing Communication, Education, and Psychology. With more than 100 faculty members of international repute, LUMSA offers a wide array of academic programs, including Master's degrees, specialized training courses, and research doctorates, catering to both young and mature students.

Employability and Corporate Partnerships LUMSA has a strong track record in facilitating student employability through trusted relationships with leading organizations. The LUMSA Talent Academy serves as a strategic interface between students and top managers from major national and international companies.

Research and Global Collaboration LUMSA is committed to promoting basic and interdisciplinary research via its University Centre for Research and Internationalization (CARI) and the Ethics Committee for Scientific Research (CERS). These centers collaborate with esteemed academic peers globally, further enhancing LUMSA’s research capabilities. The university is also a member of the Agency for the Promotion of European Research (APRE) and part of the EURAXESS and Eduroam networks.

Commitment to Gender Equality In line with the European Commission’s directives, LUMSA adopted its first Gender Equality Plan in 2022, as part of the Horizon Europe program. This initiative is a testament to the university’s commitment to equal opportunities and human dignity, and it has already achieved satisfactory results.

LUMSA University thus emerges as an exemplary partner for academic and research collaborations, distinguished by its comprehensive educational offerings, strong employability focus, and unwavering commitment to social responsibility and gender equality.
