Nantes university

Nantes Université (NU) is one of the largest universities in France with 42 joint research institutes, 2,600 researchers and over 40,000 students (11% international). Covering a wide range of research areas, the university has established nationally recognised excellence clusters on research and innovation in industry, and future health. NU was awarded the HRS4R (Human Resources Strategy for Researchers) Excellence label in 2022 and is a founding member of the European University for Well-being (EUniWell, Erasmus+). In the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, NU is among the top 300 universities contributing most actively to the UN sustainable development goals (SDGs), and is ranked top 25 on SDG 4, "Quality Education". The laboratoire des sciences numériques de Nantes (LS2N, UMR CNRS 6004) gathers ~600 people in all the Digital Sciences. 20+ research teams address computer science and robotics challenges. The STACK research group focusing on challenges related to the management and advanced usages of Utility Computing infrastructures (i.e., Cloud, Fog, Edge, and beyond): http://stack.inria.fr. The team is interested in delivering appropriate system abstractions to operate and use the next generation of digital infrastructures where data centres, networks and IoT devices are all integrated. Making significant contributions in this area is critical for the emergence of new kinds of applications related to the digitalisation of society (smart-homes, virtual reality, industrial internet, e-health, etc.).
