Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi, Romania, an advanced research and education university ranked among the top 12 Romanian universities, is committed to academic excellence in teaching and research. TUIASI has 11 faculties offering undergraduate, master and doctoral programmes. The programmes are carried out with the support of more than 700 academic staff. TUIASI is also fully committed to the Bologna process and its follow-up. Students are accommodated in the ''Tudor Vladimirescu" student campus with a capacity of 23 halls of residence. TUIASI fully supports the extracurricular activities carried out by the 11 student leagues of the faculties and 2 student associations. TUIASI places top priority on the internationalisation of studies and research and attaches great importance to the exchange of both students and academic staff. Each year, a significant number of students and academic staff go abroad to partner universities within more than 100 institutional agreements and more than 300 Erasmus Inter-Institutional Agreements. Every year, TUIASI supports students in organizing international summer schools in technical fields. TUIASI has an important research dimension, having accredited research centres with dedicated laboratories for scientific research. A permanent focus is on interdisciplinary research, innovation, knowledge transfer, and the recognition and visibility of the university at the international level. Lately, the university took part in more than 350 national and international projects and research contracts. Its research profile is directed towards high-tech engineering areas, giving innovative approaches towards sustainability issues, developed within the 10 Doctoral Schools affiliated with the faculties. At the same time, TUIASI organizes national and international conferences every year. With the occasion of these conferences, TUIASI is annually visited by about 300 professors. The Council for Doctoral Studies coordinates the doctoral study programmes of the schools affiliated with the faculties. The duration of the doctoral programme is 3 years. The doctoral activities are provided by more than 150 supervisors in close cooperation with the University's research centres.
