MSCA fellowship proposal

Vjaceslav Tretjacenko

group leader at Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of Czech Academy of Sciences

Prague, Czech Republic

About

We are seeking a postdoctoral candidate to co-develop an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship application around the project "Alternative interpretations of the genetic code through tRNA pool modification."

The project investigates how perturbing the cellular tRNA pool reshapes the proteome, using S. cerevisiae as the model system. The successful candidate will combine high-throughput yeast genetics, CRISPR/Cas9 genome engineering, deep sequencing, and state-of-the-art quantitative proteomics to define the rules by which tRNA composition encodes proteome content.

You will:

  • Engineer yeast strains with defined tRNA pool perturbations using CRISPR/Cas9

  • Operate robotic platforms for high-throughput strain construction and screening

  • Analyse HTS sequencing and mass-spectrometry datasets

  • Lead the preparation of the MSCA fellowship application with the host group

Required: prior hands-on experience with S. cerevisiae; an independent track record (PhD with publications) consistent with MSCA eligibility.

Advantageous: experience in any of CRISPR/Cas9 editing, lab automation, NGS data analysis, or quantitative proteomics. Strong candidates from any one of these backgrounds are encouraged to apply — we don't expect mastery of all four.

Location: Newly established lab of at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry (IOCB) - a well-funded research institute in central Prague offering excellent core facilities, an international working environment, and competitive postdoctoral conditions. Visa/relocation support included.

To apply: send a CV, a brief statement of research interests, and contact details for two referees
