About
The Department of Czech Studies in Olomouc is one of the oldest and research-oriented Czech studies institutions in the country. It offers vibrant academic environment for Czech philology, including textology and editorial practice, with options for pedagogical qualifications. The department collaborates with leading global researchers, engages in international projects, and organizes conferences shaping current literary and linguistic research. It publishes the peer-reviewed journal Bohemica Olomucensia and participates in prestigious international programs.
Supervisor:
Assoc. Prof. PhDr. Božena Bednaříková, PhD., an expert in Czech morphology and contemporary grammar, provides top-tier mentorship for postdoctoral researchers at Palacký University Olomouc. Her research focuses on word structure, inflectional and derivational morphology, and cognitive linguistics. She has authored two monographs, numerous publications, and a key study on derivational networks in Europe, while fostering the professional growth of early-career scholars and delivering international lectures. She also serves in the Ministry of Education's committee for foreign lectorates and is part of the scientific board of Zeitschrift für Slawistik.

Candidate requirements:

Previous residence in Czechia no longer than 12 months during the past 3 years Ph.D. in any linguistic (philological) discipline no longer than 8 years (exceptions for career breaks)
