MSCA PF Offer: Department of Asian Studies, Supervisor Dr. KRAUS

The Department of Asian Studies at the Faculty of Arts at Palacký University Olomouc (FF UP) focuses on educational, scientific, and research activities concerning contemporary languages and cultures in Asia.The institution orientates its studies on China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Vietnam. With this specialisation, the department offers degree courses on undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate level and currently intends to broaden its team with welcoming MSCA Postdoctoral Fellows on its board.

Supervisor:

Filip KRAUS, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at Palacký University Olomouc with research focused on Vietnamese Society, Literature, Migration and Diaspora; Sexuality in Confucian Word; National and Transnational Identities; Critical Philosophy and Postcolonial Studies in Contemporary Southeast Asia. With his experience from previous studies and employment at various Asian universities and research institutions, such as National Chiao Tung University or Academia Sinica, Dr. Kraus has an extensive knowledge and network in the Asian-Pacific region to offer.

Preferred Research Topics:

• Diverse topics focused on Vietnam, its culture and society

Candidate Requirements:

• Ph.D. no longer than 8 years (ečxceptions for career breaks) in political science, international relations, economics, sociology, media studies, development studies or a related field

• Previous residence in the Czech Republic no longer than 12 months in past 3 years
