About

This project aims to develop a sustainable and low-carbon solution to recover and utilize heat generated during the composting of Euterpe edulis seeds after fruit processing for pulp extraction. This underutilized biological heat will be explored as a renewable thermal energy source, contributing to resource efficiency and climate mitigation.

The project also addresses the sustainable management and valorisation of organic residues from the açaí production chain, promoting circular bioeconomy principles and reducing environmental impacts. The proposed solution will be designed to be low-cost, scalable, and easily adoptable by local pulp-producing communities, strengthening socio-economic resilience while supporting biodiversity conservation and sustainable forest-based value chains.
