Continuous directed evolution, GPCRs, AI-enabled protein design

Asli Azizoglu

PI, Ambizione Fellow at Lab for Engineering Synthetic Systems, University of Basel

About

I am an SNSF Ambizione Fellow at the University of Basel developing an independent research program in continuous directed evolution of functional GPCR-targeting proteins. My group is establishing a high-throughput yeast platform that couples GPCR signalling to cellular fitness, enabling the continuous discovery and optimization of functional nanobodies and other protein modulators.

For MSCA Doctoral/Postdoc/COFUND Networks, I am particularly interested in joining an existing or emerging consortium where this expertise could provide a complementary doctoral/postdoctoral project. I can contribute a PhD project focused on continuous protein evolution, functional GPCR modulation, nanobody engineering and synthetic biology, with opportunities for interdisciplinary work in computational protein design, structural biology, pharmacology or biotechnology.

I would be particularly interested in consortia working on protein engineering, directed evolution, synthetic biology, molecular biotechnology, drug discovery, membrane-protein biology or AI-enabled protein design.
