AI-Powered Course Creation Platform for African Educators — Seeking RAISE DN and Staff Exchange Partners

Faith Mundia

Founder & CEO | Learning Engineer & EdTech Researcher at Fay Institute of eLearning

Nairobi, Kenya

About

The Fay Institute of eLearning is an AI-powered EdTech research organisation based in Nairobi, Kenya, developing and validating instructional design frameworks for professional educators in Sub-Saharan Africa. We operate FayEDU, a live AI-powered SaaS platform comprising Course Studio, Learn Marketplace, and Learn LMS, grounded in the Fay Institute Learning Framework (FILF), a practitioner-developed synthesis framework validated through a six-month Design-Based Research pilot with nine Kenyan professional educators.

Our research is documented in two peer-moderated preprints published on EdArXiv and SSRN in 2026. Phase 2 of our research programme, a scaled multi-country DBR study with 30 to 50 educators across East, West, and Southern Africa, launches Q3 2026, targeting publication in the British Journal of Educational Technology.

FayEDU generates continuous research data on educator course creation behaviours, AI scaffolding engagement, and learner outcomes — making it a live research site for AI in Education studies. Our African educator cohort and platform data represent a Global South context that European research consortia rarely have direct access to.

We are seeking three types of partners:

  1. European universities or research institutions forming a RAISE Doctoral Networks consortium in AI in Education, Learning Technology, or HCI — we can join as a third-country partner providing platform access and African educator data

  2. Organisations interested in MSCA Staff Exchanges 2027 — we can participate as a non-EU partner in a consortium of three or more organisations across three or more countries

  3. Researchers interested in comparative studies of AI-assisted course creation across African and European educator contexts
