About

The Pontifical University of Salamanca (UPSA), with over 80 years of experience in education and research, is seeking to join international consortia within the framework of the MSCA. Committed to scientific excellence, innovation, and knowledge transfer, UPSA offers an interdisciplinary and international research environment with a strong focus on social impact.

Its research is structured around two key institutes: the Institute of Educational Sciences, focused on pedagogical innovation and teacher development, and the Institute of European Studies and Human Rights, specialising in European integration, fundamental rights, and the ethical governance of artificial intelligence.

UPSA’s research activity is organised around a wide range of strategic research lines:

  • Health and Well-being: integrated clinical therapies, advanced physiotherapy, physical activity and quality of life, training planning, and injury prevention.

  • Psychology: positive psychology across the life cycle, psychological processes and therapeutic effectiveness, gender-based violence prevention, psychological well-being, and healthy behaviours.

  • Education and Pedagogy: innovative teaching methodologies, digital competencies for educators, educational inclusion, quality assurance, and communication and collaboration strategies in learning environments.

  • Communication and Media: innovation in corporate communication and marketing, audiovisual representation, new narrative formats, and media technologies.

  • Philosophy, Law, and Political Thought: foundations of liberal democracy, moral and legal thought, Catholic Social Teaching, religion and diplomacy, human rights, and contemporary ethical-political challenges.

  • Humanities and History: history of education, classical humanism, Aristotelian tradition, Christology, and cultural history.

  • Artificial Intelligence, Ethics, and Society: ethical AI governance, moral and legal dilemmas of disruptive technologies, human rights in the digital age, technological diplomacy, and cyber governance.

  • Innovation, Technology, and Knowledge Management: digital transformation, emerging technologies, ethical knowledge management, and AI for social innovation.

With this broad and solid research base, UPSA is an ideal strategic partner for MSCA projects, contributing academic excellence, interdisciplinary expertise, and a strong commitment to innovation, ethics, and the social impact of science.
