IdiPAZ hosts an opportunity to the 2025 MSCA-PF call
About
Post-stroke recovery varies largely among patients. The causes of that are still widely uncharacterised with several mechanisms proposed. One of those possible contributors is the effect of paracrine signalisation via extracellular vesicles: the secretoma.
Extracellular vesicles typically contains several types of products of different nature (from simple nutrients like lipids to well-known signalisation intermediaries like non coding RNAs or directly proteins and peptides with or without enzymatic activity). Sorting out the biological relevance of this elements (individually or as an ensemble) constitutes a requirement that cannot be solved exclusively from biochemistry.
We are seeking postdoctoral candidates from the bio-informatics and mathematical modelling fields interested in joining our group to tackle this tasks using Big Data computing, modelling and AI-assisted in silico research.
IdiPAZ research group in Neurology and Cerebrovascular Diseases focuses on understanding the mechanisms of cerebral infarction and hemorrhage through translational studies. It counts with basic neurobiologists and clinical neurologists. Key research lines include investigating stroke and post-stroke evolution, identifying prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for brain protection and repair, and exploring factors affecting functional recovery, including post-stroke aphasia. The clinical branch also assess innovative rehabilitation methods like virtual reality for motor and cognitive sequelae.
