He has done research during his doctoral stage in prestigious institutions such as MIT, where he worked as a data scientist of intensive care patients in the Laboratory for Computational Physiology, where he remains affiliated researcher. He has worked on multiple research initiatives with "omics" medical data and has organized data collaboration events in Asia, South America, North America and Europe. He has authored numerous articles on AI, open data, and data science applied to medical practice. With a markedly multidisciplinary profile, he has been involved in more than 50 healthcare technology projects, always in collaboration with clinicians, and has published more than twenty scientific articles in high impact journals.
