About me
Michelle Ogbonna, trilingual online and offline global Marketeer was the first to join the Marketing and Advertising team at Samsung Mobile and grew the budget from £1m to £10m within 12 months. Furthermore, the Marketing spend grew exponentially by year two reaching £120 million by month 18 for group sponsorship alone. She defined and implemented a winning go-to-market strategy and led the Advertising, Marketing and product teams to long term success at a time when 90% of the mobile phone device market share was dominated by rivals Nokia, Motorola, Ericsson and Siemens. She has had a long and varied career in technology spanning over 20 years, always pioneering and at the forefront of groundbreaking technologies.
Her expertise includes working across multi-disciplined and global teams, leading challenging technology sponsorship and product launches such as at Samsung, SAP AG, and many other blue chip organisations, and communicating complex product stories into messages that consumers can absorb and understand to improve product/service adoption rates.
High profile sponsorship projects include Sydney Olympics (Samsung), Calloway Golf, Formula One (SAP AG), Sony BMG (Hutchison 3G), Les Echos, France and the Dow Jones conference (CNBC Europe). Central government policy development, Department of Transport (Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy) under then Jesse Norman MP, and the then Jo Johnson MP. I supported DfT Events Women in Engineering as well as the Office of Science at DfT that fed to strategic input inclusions into evidence based proposals for policy planning of DfT agencies DVSA and DVLA for automated vehicles, cycling and walking policy development on road safety.
