Hellenic Friedreich's Ataxia Association – EuroAtaxia
About
The Hellenic Friedreich’s Ataxia Association (HeFAA) is a non-profit organization founded by patients and parents affected by Friedreich’s Ataxia, a rare neurodegenerative disease. Based in Thessaloniki, Greece, HeFAA is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with Friedreich’s Ataxia through advocacy, awareness, and support for scientific research.
Our mission is to promote equal access to diagnosis, prevention, and innovative treatments for all patients in Greece, while contributing to global efforts to find a cure. We work closely with state institutions, researchers, and international networks like Euro-ataxia to accelerate the development and implementation of effective therapies.
Driven by the values of life, hope, and solidarity, we believe in the power of science and community to transform this devastating condition into a story of progress and possibility. Every day counts in our fight for better health and longer lives for those living with Friedreich’s Ataxia.
