About
The Region of Central Macedonia (RCM) is one of the thirteen administrative regions of Greece and the second most populous in the country. Located in Northern Greece, it includes seven regional units: Thessaloniki, Imathia, Kilkis, Pella, Pieria, Serres, and Halkidiki. With Thessaloniki as its capital, the region serves as a vital political, economic, and cultural hub in Southeast Europe. Central Macedonia has a diverse landscape combining mountains, plains, lakes, and a long coastline, making it a popular destination for tourism, agriculture, and trade.
RCM plays a key role in regional development, innovation, and cross-border cooperation, actively participating in numerous European projects and initiatives. The Region is strongly committed to improving public health services, promoting integrated care models, and advancing digital health solutions in collaboration with local health authorities, academic institutions, and civil society. Through strategic planning and targeted actions, RCM supports sustainable development, social inclusion, and enhanced quality of life for all citizens.
