nablaDot is an engineering and R&D SME specialising in advanced modelling, digital twins, and data-driven tools for the design, optimisation, and operation of energy, industrial, and urban systems.

We bridge the gap between high-fidelity physics-based simulation and practical digital solutions. Our expertise ranges from Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), heat and mass transfer, and multiphysics modelling to reduced-order models, surrogate models, data analytics and digital twins. This enables us to transform complex simulations and operational data into fast computational tools that can support design, monitoring, forecasting, optimisation and decision-making.

For Horizon Europe projects, nablaDot can contribute to the development and validation of digital solutions in areas such as:

• Smart and sustainable energy systems: modelling and optimisation of energy conversion, thermal systems, renewable energy integration, hydrogen technologies and industrial decarbonisation.

• Digital twins and surrogate models: development of physics-based and hybrid digital twins, surrogate models and real-time simulation tools for industrial, energy and urban applications.

• Smart buildings and districts: building energy modelling, energy performance assessment, integration of monitoring data and digital tools to support energy efficiency and renovation strategies.

• Renewable energy forecasting: high-resolution wind modelling, wind resource assessment and tools for wind and solar PV generation forecasting.

• Industrial sustainability and smart manufacturing: CFD-based design and optimisation of industrial equipment and processes, including heat exchangers, combustion systems, hydrogen-related equipment and other thermal processes.

• Water and environmental applications: modelling and digital twins for wastewater treatment and anaerobic digestion, supporting process monitoring, optimisation and resource recovery.

• Health and biomedical engineering: physics-based modelling and computational tools applied to cardiovascular flows and personalised simulation.

• Data-driven decision support: integration of simulation models, operational data and machine-learning approaches to create computationally efficient tools suitable for deployment in digital platforms.

A particular strength of nablaDot is the development of workflows that connect high-fidelity models → surrogate models → digital twins → deployable decision-support tools, allowing complex physical processes to be represented with the computational speed required for optimisation and near-real-time applications.

nablaDot has experience participating in European collaborative R&D projects and working with universities, research organisations, technology providers, industrial companies and end users. We are particularly interested in joining Horizon Europe consortia where advanced modelling and digitalisation can provide a clear technical contribution to demonstrators, pilots and innovative services.
