4D Fusion sp. z o.o. is a European deep-tech company offering a unique multi-material additive manufacturing platform that accelerates the development of advanced polymers, composites and functional structures for medical, pharmaceutical and personalised-medicine applications. Our patent-pending BFG extrusion technology, combined with modular clear extrusion capabilities enables fast formulation, testing and 3D printing of new biomaterials — including biosoluble and biodegradable polymers for controlled release of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) — using only gram-scale inputs, fully controlled compositions without the need for process additives, and precise adjustment of functional additive levels up to 75% vol..

Our 4D Fusion AM System supports clean, low-temperature extrusion profiles compatible with APIs sensitive to thermal degradation, and allows printing customised drug-delivery geometries (micro-reservoirs, lattices, multilayer structures) that can be personalised to the patient. With multi-material, on-the-fly printing, the system can also create zonal release profiles, gradient structures, and embedded functional layers, enabling new concepts in smart therapeutics.

Beyond solid dosage forms, our technology supports the fabrication of biosoluble wearables and patches capable of releasing APIs through skin contact. These elements can be personalised in form, stiffness and dissolution rate, while the printing process maintains high material purity thanks to our modular, easily sterilizable material-insert system. Safety considerations — accidental ingestion, child safety, recyclability — can be directly addressed through tailored material formulations and controlled dissolution kinetics.

The platform is designed for both research and scalable production, bridging medical material development and regulatory-ready manufacturing. It allows rapid iteration cycles, minimal waste, and precise tuning of functional additives (from <1% to >75% vol.), supporting applications such as drug-delivery devices, biosensors, antimicrobial materials, personalised implants and advanced polymer systems for health technologies.
