Biomedical Research Institute of Málaga

IBIMA is a multidisciplinary research institute dedicated to biomedicine and nanomedicine, based around the Regional and Virgen de la Victoria University Hospitals in Málaga. It collaborates with Primary Care, the biotechnological groups at the University of Málaga, and the Andalusian Centre for Nanomedicine and Biotechnology (BIONAND).

Its primary objective is to promote excellence in research, with a strong focus on translational research, ensuring that scientific discoveries are transferred into clinical practice, biotechnology, and applied solutions. IBIMA fosters a multidisciplinary research environment that strengthens the scientific foundations of healthcare programs and policies within the National Health System. It prioritizes translational research across biomolecular, clinical, epidemiological, and technological levels, facilitating the transfer of scientific advances in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of prevalent health conditions at regional, national, and international levels.

We are particularly interested in participating in projects related to nutrition, exploring new sources of nutrients, the impact of pollution on health, and mental health and nutrition.
