About me

Mayya Sundukova, PhD in Neuroscience and MSCA Alumna, is currently a researcher in a health research institute in Spain, carrying out a project to optically connect biological and artificial neuronal networks. She has a long-standing interest in developing tools for neuroscientists and building communities, advocating for open science, collaborative research practices and workplace well-being. During previous experience in non-profit sector, Mayya served as a mentor in OLS mentoring programs to equip early career researchers with skills relevant for open science practices, and as a Resident Fellow at OLS, she combined scientific expertise with coaching and narrative therapy skills. Mayya also helped other early career researchers to navigate transitions through structured mentoring programs such as REBECA (Researchers Beyond Academia). Recently, Mayya served as an invited co-editor of Marie Curie Alumni Association Newsletter issue 41, to collect stories from the community about implementation of open science. As part of addressing systemic issues, Mayya coordinated collaborative Researcher Mental Health COST Action CA19117 reports on researcher mental well-being and overview of policies across Europe.
