Sirris operates as a collaborative partner, helping businesses harness the power of advanced technologies to enhance their processes and products. Our laboratory in the port of Antwerp houses a unique climatic test chamber tailored to industry needs. The large interior dimensions (10.6m x 7m x 8m testing space) and more than 150 tonnes of weight capacity allow for testing heavy machinery or validating multiple prototypes in one test run. Different machinery like wind turbines components, off-highway vehicles, construction and mining machinery, electrical grid infrastructure, aerospace components and military equipment are often required to survive and operate under extreme temperatures and climatic conditions ranging from artic cold, to tropical heat and/or dry heat desert conditions. This unique testing infrastructure is designed to test this machinery for every possible climatic condition on earth in order to ensure reliable and save operations in these harsh environments.

What kind of partners are you looking for?

I´m looking for companies who want to validate their products in harsh conditions (down to -60°C as USP) our large climatic test chamber. Examples of products to be validated: battery storage systems (e.g. BESS containers), power generators and e-generators, electrolysers, fuel cells, power electronics and hydrogen-based energy solutions. Other specs of our large climate chamber: Maximum dimensions of test specimen in our actual climate chamber: Length: 10,5 m Width: 7 m Height: 8 m (Large main entrance door: 7 m x 7 m (w x h)) IR array : Solar heat simulation up to 950W/m² (ISO 10263-6 ; 14269-3) Humidification setup Dryer setup Automated ice spray test bench – useful for example to perform defrosting tests Typical tests include cold start testing, cold & hot climate package testing and icing tests for example. More info of this test facility can be found attached and on our website: https://www.sirris.be/en/industrial-lab/largest-climatic-test-chamber-europe.
