About

Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences (Jamk) is a multidisciplinary university that has carried out EU-co-funded projects throughout Finland’s membership in the EU.

Since 2011, the Institute of Information Technology at JAMK has carried out extensive R&D&I activities in cybersecurity both nationally and internationally.

Since 2017, JAMK has strategically focused on developing and applying expertise in artificial intelligence and data analytics for various purposes, including cybersecurity. The main focus has been on the practical application of open-source AI and data analytics products, either to available open data or to real-world business challenges. R&D work related to quantum security has been conducted since 2024. A group of nearly 50 persons, consisting of researchers and experts, is responsible for implementing R&D projects in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.
