Composite Energy Technologies, LLC
About
Composite Energy Technologies (CET) is a defense technology company headquartered in Bristol, Rhode Island, deploying low-cost scalable autonomous underwater vehicles and subsea energy systems for NATO and U.S. defense customers.
CET is the developer of HADALUS, a family of modular autonomous undersea vehicles designed to make long-range, deep-water maritime autonomy more affordable, adaptable, and manufacturable at scale. HADALUS was designed from the outset around scalable production, containerized transport, point-of-use assembly, and modular mission payload integration. Its flat-pack architecture and automated carbon-fiber component production create a different model for building, transporting, supporting, and rapidly adapting large undersea vehicles.
HADALUS is being developed and demonstrated for missions including mine countermeasures (MCM), anti-submarine warfare (ASW), contested logistics, seabed sensing and effects, persistent maritime surveillance, critical-infrastructure and port protection, and deployment of distributed subsea payloads. CET is under contract to deliver a HADALUS-L variant to the U.S. Marine Corps for subsea resupply in contested environments and continues to expand the platform through U.S., NATO, and allied operational demonstrations.
CET has been selected for NATO DIANA’s Phase 2 Mission Track. Our Mission Track focus is moving HADALUS from successful demonstration toward an interoperable, deployable allied capability. Key objectives include development of a NATO-interoperable HADALUS exercise variant, allied user evaluations, integration of command-and-control, navigation, payload, and mission-data interfaces, and establishment of a European sovereign manufacturing and assembly pathway.
Building a European industrial ecosystem is a major strategic priority for CET. We are actively seeking relationships with European and NATO-country manufacturers, suppliers, defense primes, shipbuilders, payload developers, autonomy and navigation companies, sonar and acoustic technology providers, battery and energy-storage companies, and test and integration organizations. Our goal is to combine CET’s vehicle architecture, advanced-composites expertise, and manufacturing know-how with indigenous European supply chains, local assembly, integration, sustainment, and production capability.
CET’s objective is not simply to export finished U.S.-built vehicles. We are interested in partnership models that strengthen the transatlantic defense industrial base and create durable, sovereign capability within Europe. Potential structures include component and subsystem supply, payload integration, joint demonstrations, co-development, licensed or partner-led manufacturing, local assembly and sustainment, and longer-term strategic production partnerships. We are particularly interested in identifying European sources for materials, components, electronics, energy systems, payloads, and other critical elements of the HADALUS supply chain.
CET operates a 4,500-square-meter manufacturing facility in Rhode Island with advanced composite production capability and an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system. We are scaling U.S. production while deliberately building the partner network, supply chains, and manufacturing relationships required to support growing allied demand.
At NL-US Defense Industry Days, CET is particularly interested in meeting Dutch and European organizations that can complement HADALUS in maritime sensing, MCM, ASW, autonomy, communications, navigation, payloads, energy, advanced manufacturing, and naval integration. The Netherlands has a strong maritime defense and technology ecosystem, and CET sees significant opportunity to combine Dutch, European, and U.S. capabilities to accelerate the deployment and production of autonomous undersea systems across NATO.
CET welcomes discussions with industry, government, research organizations, and strategic investors interested in autonomous maritime systems, subsea technology, advanced manufacturing, European production, and strengthening allied industrial resilience.
