Centro Tecnológico de la Construcción
About
CTCON (Construction Technology Centre) is a private non-profit R&D centre created in 2003 by a group of companies aiming to innovate in construction. Officially recognised in the Spanish Registry of Technology Centres, CTCON bridges the gap between industry and research, providing companies with the infrastructure, staff, and technical capacity required to innovate. Our activity includes applied R&D&I, advanced testing services, and transfer of technology
-
Sustainable Construction & Circular Economy: Development of eco-concretes and eco-cements, alkali-activated binders, and circular design strategies (e.g. design for deconstruction).
-
Smart & Resilient Infrastructure: Applied research in the development of bituminous mixtures and advanced binders, including polymer-modified binders, synthetic binders and bio-binders. Formulation of innovative asphalt mixes with recycled materials and industrial by-products. Development of predictive performance tools and testing of pavement durability and noise reduction. CTCON also designs infrastructure materials for increased resilience under climate stress, heavy traffic, and seismic conditions.
-
Prefabrication & Industrialised Building: 3D printed mortars and solutions for energy-efficient prefabricated buildings.
-
Digital Construction & AI: BIM-based methodologies, digital twins for lifecycle management, IoT-enabled monitoring, and AI decision-support tools.
-
Energy Efficiency & Climate Adaptation: Development and validation of bioclimatic construction systems, high-performance insulation materials, and integration of passive strategies for thermal comfort. CTCON also conducts advanced energy simulations and acoustic studies including indoor air quality, noise control, and vibration mitigation, contributing to healthier and more efficient buildings and environments.
