POGON - Zagreb Centre for Independent Culture and Youth

Co-founded by the City of Zagreb and Operacija grad - a network of CSOs in culture and youth - POGON is a hybrid institution that balances public funding with independent programming and participatory decision-making. Dedicated to supporting contemporary art, independent culture and youth initiatives, it provides infrastructure – primarily in the form of Jedinstvo Hall, a former pump factory on the Sava embankment – and technical and other support for non-profit cultural programs. POGON operates through partnerships, empowering diverse communities and promoting democratic, inclusive and sustainable cultural practices. Its mission is to strengthen the independent cultural scene and expand public space for critical, experimental and socially engaged artistic work.
