About

FEMCOM research group focuses on Communication with a gender perspective. We research in areas related to women's studies, and human rights and cooperation to promote global social justice.

MOSAICA is an NGO dedicated to promoting cultural rights as an integral part of human rights, ensuring everyone's access to and participation in cultural life. It aims to foster equality, social cohesion, and inclusion through art and culture, removing territorial barriers and guaranteeing participation regardless of origin or condition. Its line of work is very much focused on marginalised communities and neighbourhoods. Contact: Mosaica.mediacion.artistica@gmail.com

Driving Cultural Mediation for Social Transformation

Our main mission is to engage in research and provide cultural interventions as a way to guarantee cultural rights, working intensely to foster social transformation in Seville's most disadvantaged neighborhoods.

Our Philosophy and Strategic Pillars:

  • Challenging Territory as a Space of Exclusion: We work towards breaking down both the physical and symbolic barriers that have historically confined certain neighborhoods to exclusion. Our goal is to generate high-quality cultural production as a way to decentralize culture and stimulate exchange and movement between the city center and its peripheries.

  • Fostering Self-Representation: We firmly believe in the power of the community to build its own narratives. Therefore, we stimulate the creation of alternative imaginaries that empower local residents to represent themselves with dignity and authenticity.

  • Promoting Participation: The active and real participation of the community is at the heart of our work. We aim for this involvement to develop into governance practices capable of demanding and accessing decision-making spaces that directly affect them.

  • Boosting Artistic Creation as a Capacity-Building Catalyst: We understand art not only as a form of expression but as an activity that dignifies, empowers, and increases visibility. Through artistic creation, we activate and exercise people's cultural rights, offering pathways for personal and collective development.
