About

Creative Robotics is a research department within the University for Arts and Industrial Design Linz that was set up with the goal of investigating robotics as an interface between the digital and physical world.

Headed by Prof. Braumann, co-founder and vice-president of the Association for Robots in Architecture, Creative Robotics is experienced in tackling challenges involving robotics in the built environment.

With the core expertise being in the application of collaborative, industrial, and quadruped robots, CR is also experienced in the use of sustainable bio materials, various fabrication techniques and parametric/generative design.

CR is engaged in arts-based and industrial research covering a wide range of applications, from developing new robotic processes with architects and SMEs to realizing highly visible robot installations with partners from various industries. We want to distribute our knowledge as widely as possible and are therefore highly engaged in research-led teaching at various stages.
