SILK is a European non-profit initiative fostering the resilience and sustainable transformation of rural and small-town communities. Operating at three complementary levels – a central EU hub, a network of local catalysts, and grounded local hubs – SILK connects territories with European expertise, funding, and innovation ecosystems.

Our mission is to empower underrepresented communities through:

• Collaborative, place-based innovation

• Support for eco-social entrepreneurship and circular economy initiatives

• Creation of community spaces and territorial demonstrators

• Capacity building and matchmaking with EU programmes and partners

SILK embraces the values of the New European Bauhaus – sustainability, inclusion, and aesthetics – and actively contributes to EU transitions by co-designing replicable models rooted in local identity. Through our growing EU-wide network, we build transnational partnerships, mobilise interdisciplinary expertise, and enable local actors to access and shape Horizon Europe and NEB-aligned projects.

SILK is both a platform and a movement: driven by local realities, powered by European cooperation.
