Bourges 2028 is an independent, non-profit association established to manage Bourges’ designation as the European Capital of Culture for 2028. The organization operates with a clear and straightforward structure, supported by continuous political and financial backing from the City Council of Bourges, Bourges Plus Conurbation, the Cher Department, the Centre-Val de Loire Region and the French government. The association’s scope of work encompasses the development and implementation of a comprehensive cultural program that emphasizes inclusivity, ecological sustainability, and human-scale initiatives. This program aims to address pressing European and global issues through various cultural activities and events.
