About

The Institute of Rock Structure and Mechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IRSM CAS) is a research institution focused on the study of the structure, properties, and behaviour of rocks and rock environments. The Institute also conducts research on glasses, technical ceramics, composites, biomaterials, porous materials, and their application potential, as well as on technologies for the processing and utilization of inorganic and organic waste. Through fundamental and applied research, IRSM CAS contributes to advances in materials science, environmental technologies, and sustainable industrial processes. Through close collaboration with national and international academic, research, and industrial partners, the Institute promotes knowledge exchange, technological innovation, and the transfer of scientific results into practical applications.
