Cemtec - Hydrogen Valley

CEMTEC Fonden - Hydrogen Valley is a Danish innovation and project platform based in Northern Denmark, working to accelerate the transition towards a resilient, zero-emission energy system built on 100% renewable energy. From a strong local foundation around Hobro, we operate across national and European contexts by bringing together industry, research institutions, public authorities, and local communities in collaborative, project-driven environments.

We do not develop or promote individual technologies. Instead, we act as an impartial knowledge broker and project enabler, connecting insights across technology, policy, and markets, and translating them into concrete projects with real-world impact. Through this approach, we support the design and implementation of integrated energy systems that combine renewable electricity, hydrogen, storage, heat, and flexibility in ways that are technically sound, economically viable, and locally anchored.

Our strategic focus is on system integration rather than individual solutions. We work with hydrogen and Power-to-X where they create clear system value—such as in energy storage, grid balancing, backup capacity, and the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors. By doing so, we contribute to strengthening energy security, resilience, and long-term sustainability, while supporting the broader transition towards a climate-neutral energy system.

Through demonstration projects and international collaborations, we translate long-term strategy into deployable solutions, ensuring that the energy transition is not only technically and economically viable, but also locally grounded, socially accepted, and aligned with wider environmental and societal goals.
