About

Newly established specialized facility – Laboratory of Material Analysis of the Slovak National gallery is  equipped with modern instruments and techniques, making it competitive on the international stage. As a group of young researchers and a relatively young facility, we are seeking reliable partners in the field of cultural heritage and conservation science for specialized research in this field. We offer comprehensive instrumentation, including spectroscopic techniques, MA-XRF, and SEM-EDS. Our working group has a lot of experience in material analyses of artworks from the Slovak National Gallery (SNG) and artworks belonging to our partners from this geographical region. In our research, we place particular emphasis on non-invasive analysis and non-destructive techniques. We are looking for partners interested in developing a strong international and transinstitutional network to facilitate research and knowledge sharing, both of which are crucial for the development of this field.
