About
KMOP- SOCIAL ACTION & INNOVATION CENTRE (http://www.kmop.org) is one of Greece’s oldest civic society organisations, with almost 50 years of experience, interalia, in mental health, psychosocial support and community-based care. With offices and branches in Athens, Brussels and the Western Balkans, KMOP employs more the 120 professionals, from diverse disciplines.
KMOP also operates three residential facilities for people with chronic mental illness and one day-care centre for individuals with mild mental health conditions. We also offer free psychological support sessions to vulnerable groups. KMOP also participates in major national programmes on community health services.
Our work is supported by a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, health experts, paramedical professionals and researchers, including academic staff who serve as professors in leading universities.
Our EU and Regional networks include the Ministry of Health, the Regional Health Authority of Piraeus & Islands, the National Network of Carers and the National Association of Parents of People with ASD.
Further to the above, KMOP has set up and runs the “Live Without Bullying” platform, a web-based service and mobile app, available in iOS and Android, for psychosocial support to victims of bullying. Our work through the platform is supported by school visits and targeted training sessions for students, teachers and parents on how to prevent and address bullying.
KMOP has a solid track record in EU-funded projects on health and social innovation, across Horizon Europe, Interreg Europe, CERV, AMIF, Creative Europe and Erasmus+ - currently ~120 projects across our entities in Athens and Brussels.
