About

SAMU is an organization with extensive experience in managing medical emergencies and providing social and social-health services, specializing in caring for vulnerable individuals in complex situations. Its work combines immediate response to critical situations—including medical transport, advanced life support, and emergency management—with the development of medium- and long-term social and educational interventions aimed at children in foster care, young people who have aged out of the system, migrants, older adults, and other groups at risk of exclusion.

This dual capacity positions SAMU as a particularly relevant actor in the design and validation of integrated care models, connecting emergency response with sustained processes of social inclusion and personal autonomy. Through a network of residential centers, shelter facilities, and psychosocial intervention programs, the organization provides real-world environments for the implementation and testing of innovative solutions in diverse contexts.

In recent years, SAMU has strengthened its strategic commitment to R&D&I, integrating highly qualified professionals and consolidating its recognition as a Knowledge Agent (AC00560CII). This positioning translates into a solid capacity to conduct applied research, implement impact assessment systems, and generate evidence from professional practice, contributing to the design of data-driven, results-oriented intervention models.

In the context of European projects, SAMU brings significant value as a partner in implementation, piloting, and validation, facilitating access to vulnerable populations, the deployment of solutions in real-world settings, and the evaluation of their effectiveness and scalability. Its multisectoral experience and evidence-based approach enable it to contribute significantly to the development of public policies that are more inclusive, sustainable, and adapted to current social challenges in Europe.
