Governorship of Giresun

Giresun Governorship is a regional public authority in Türkiye responsible for coordinating public institutions, implementing national policies and supporting regional development initiatives. It plays a central role in managing multi-stakeholder structures and facilitating cooperation between public bodies, academia, civil society and private sector actors.

The Governorship has extensive experience in designing and implementing EU-funded and nationally funded projects, particularly in the areas of social policy, digital transformation, sustainable development and cross-border cooperation. It has actively participated in programmes such as Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin, Erasmus+ and various national funding schemes.

Giresun Governorship has strong operational capacity in coordinating complex projects, managing pilot implementations and ensuring effective collaboration among diverse partners. It regularly works with regional directorates, universities, municipalities and NGOs to deliver integrated and scalable solutions.

In the field of long-term care and social services, the Governorship has developed and implemented innovative, field-tested models that integrate digital technologies with community-based support mechanisms. One example is the project “El Öpenleriniz Çok Olsun”, which introduces a digital monitoring system for elderly individuals living alone, enabling real-time health tracking, risk detection and coordinated response through a centralised platform.

Through its experience, Giresun Governorship offers strong coordination capacity, access to real-life pilot environments and the ability to translate project results into policy-level impact.

The institution is currently seeking partners to build a consortium under the HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-TRANSFO-09 call, focusing on rethinking long-term care systems through digital and community-based approaches.
