The Luxembourg Media & Digital Design Centre (LMDDC) is a public structure founded by the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). Its mission is to support the digital transformation of education and training in Luxembourg and beyond.
LMDDC operates as an agile, multidisciplinary team combining expertise in pedagogy, technology, and media production. It designs and implements digital learning solutions, including serious games, immersive experiences (VR/AR), AI-supported tools, and multimedia content, while also providing platforms and infrastructure for content creation and delivery.
The centre follows a strong public-interest approach, promoting open source, open standards, and the principle that publicly funded solutions should benefit the wider community. At the same time, it works closely with public institutions, research organisations, and private partners to develop scalable and impactful solutions.
LMDDC is actively involved in European initiatives, contributing to Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, and other international projects. With participation in over 20 European projects and networks, it plays a role in shaping digital education practices and policies at EU level.
Its activities bridge education, technology, and the creative industries, with a focus on designing practical, user-centered solutions that support digital skills, inclusion, and innovation in learning.
