About

Applied Research x Creativity (ARC) is the research centre of the Creative Business domain at Inholland University of Applied Sciences. We focus on practice-based research, strengthened through creativity and co-creation. With our transdisciplinary approach, we develop action-oriented perspectives in and together with professional practice, contributing to solutions for complex societal challenges. In doing so, we aim to accelerate the transition towards a resilient and sustainable society.

The name ARC also symbolises the path of the sun across the sky, casting different light and shadows throughout the day. In this way, new perspectives become visible: shifting perspectives.

Through our approach—thinking beyond conventional boundaries, connecting people and disciplines, and applying creative methods—ARC sheds new light on societal challenges. We believe that it is precisely in the encounter between different perspectives that the potential lies for innovative, sustainable, and inclusive solutions.

ARC collaborates in and with professional practice through three core activities: research groups (lectorates), expert networks, and living labs.
