Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University (BANÜ) is a state university established in 2015 in Bandırma, Balıkesir, Turkey. Its name commemorates September 17, 1922, a significant date in the Turkish War of Independence. The university's roots trace back to the Bandırma Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Balıkesir University, founded in 1993.
The university operates across 6 campuses with 4 institutes, 11 faculties, 1 college, 8 vocational schools, and 19 application and research centers. As of the 2025–2026 academic year, it serves approximately 21,000 students, including 1,556 international students.
The four institutes are the Institute of Sciences, Health Sciences Institute, Social Sciences Institute, and the Gönen Geothermal Institute. The university's location near the Marmara Sea has shaped a strong emphasis on marine sciences and related fields, alongside programs in engineering, economics, health sciences, and agriculture.
