Utrecht University is a wide-range, international research university located in the Netherlands where teaching and research are strongly connected. The School of Liberal Arts at Utrecht University offers four broadly oriented Bachelor's degree programmes: Taal- en cultuurstudies and Liberal Arts and Sciences , Kunstmatige intelligentie, and Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Every year these programmes attract around 600 students who have wide interests and a high degree of civic engagement. These characteristics also make them willing and able to take the responsibility for creatively designing their own degree programme. The strength of the research carried out at Utrecht University lies in the way different disciplines are combined and the integrated approach to academic and social issues. At the School of Liberal Arts, research is interdisciplinary, socially relevant, and applied to educational practice.
