About

Founded in Rome in 1971, the Institute of Political Studies “S. Pio V” has been engaged for over fifty years in research in the fields of political, humanistic and social sciences. Recognized since 2003 as a “non-instrumental research body”, it conducts scientifically independent research, publishing studies of high-quality scientific output in the public interest .

The Institute’s activities are structured around three main research areas, each coordinated by a Senior Research Fellow, together with respective Observatories for analysis and monitoring: Historical-Political Studies, with specific emphasis on the Mediterranean region, together; Social and Humanistic Studies, with a focus on migration; and Territory and Society, paying particular attention to digital transformation and sustainability.
