Research Excellence in Minority Languages, Heritage & Digital Humanities

Manager Strategic Cooperation & Research Funding at Fryske Akademy

The Hague, Netherlands

About

The Fryske Akademy & Mercator European Research Centre are a "Research Oasis" specializing in the multidisciplinary study of minority languages, regional history, and multilingual societies. As a proactive partner in the international scientific discourse, we bridge the gap between local community (mienskip) and global academic innovation.

We are looking to join existing consortia or co-design new proposals in the following domains:

Linguistics & Multilingualism: Expert research on minority languages, multilingual education, and regional language policy.

Digital Humanities: Development of digital research infrastructures, linguistic tools for minority languages, and citizen science.

• Heritage, Identity & Society: Examining cultural resilience, belonging, and the socio-economic dynamics of minority regions (also in a historical context).

Open Science & Impact: We prioritize Open Access and high-level science that generates tangible social and policy innovation.

What We Offer

Regional Access: Deep roots in the Frisian case with a massive network across Europe’s minority regions.
