The Sainsbury Institute is interested in transnational dialogues that enrich understanding of the societal impact of cultural heritage. We have particular expertise in European and East Asian interactions in art, architecture and design; the exchanges between European and Japanese archaeologists and the promotion of archaeological heritage in Japan; and the Silk Road.
