About

The Institute of Political Studies 'S. Pio V.', with over fifty years of studies and work in the field of political, humanistic and social sciences, is interested in the following calls:

  • HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-DEMOCRACY-10: Digital and media literacy as drivers for democratic and civic resilience

  • HORIZON-CL2-2027-01-DEMOCRACY-01: Advisory support and network for countering and preventing radicalisation, extremism, hate speech and polarisation

  • HORIZON-CL2-2027-01-DEMOCRACY-04: Addressing the impact of artificial intelligence, cyberviolence, and deepfakes on equality, democracy and inclusive societies

  • HORIZON-CL2-2027-01-DEMOCRACY-06: Identifying user-focused solutions to support news media freedom

We offer expertise in:

—   Study of the impact of disinformation and digital propaganda; analysis of digital vulnerabilities in public communication, speech and media literacy.

—   Analysis of geopolitical risks and digital interference in electoral contexts across the Mediterranean region;

—   Studying the impact of disinformation and digital propaganda on democratic participation.

The Institute seeks to participate as scientific and policy analysis partner, bringing consolidated expertise in the study of democratic vulnerabilities, electoral disinformation, and institutional trust.

We seek to bring our contribution to a project consortium with the following responsibilities:     

  • Coordinating the comparative assessment of institutional systems in relation to media, digital communication, public opinion and democratic resilience;

  • Contributing to the impact evaluation of the proposed interventions;

  • Leading policy uptake and European scaling activities;

  • Ensuring the transferability of results into educational systems and national media literacy strategies.

  • Disseminating results and policy recommendations, developing policy roadmaps for project transferability and promoting stakeholder dialogue and institutional engagement through workshops and event initiatives at local, national and European level.
