Psychological approaches to dialogue, mediation and conflict resolution in democratic participation and education

Researcher in cognitive psychology at CREMENS (Institut Catholique de Paris, ICP)

Paris, France

About

Our work focuses on the psychological dimensions of dialogue, conflict resolution and mediation. We study the interpersonal and institutional dynamics that contribute to conflict and polarisation, as well as the processes that enable de-escalation, mutual understanding and constructive dialogue.

This contribution would be particularly relevant to the following topics:

  • HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-DEMOCRACY-08 (Electoral integrity in the digital context)

  • HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-DEMOCRACY-09 (Citizenship education as part of lifelong learning)

  • HORIZON-CL2-2026-01-TRANSFO-07 (Fostering competences for the green transition)

We are also exploring the coordination of a proposal under HORIZON-CL2-2027-01-DEMOCRACY-03 (Student and family engagement for developing a culture of democratic participation), with a focus on dialogue and mediation.
