Accelerated Fabrication of Graphene-Based Printed Electronics via Photothermal Annealing and Photochemistry

About

The synthesis of graphene-based printed electronics requires several post-deposition steps, including thermal annealing, drying, and curing. Traditionally, these steps are energy-intensive and time-consuming, which limits scalability and cost-efficiency in printed electronic manufacturing.

We proposes the use of our photothermal system to streamline these processes through localized, rapid, and tunable heating. By employing photothermal annealing, we can precisely control the temperature and exposure duration at the micro/nanoscale, enabling uniform material transformation without damaging underlying substrates.

  • Faster drying and annealing of graphene inks using photothermal heating.

  • Optimize photochemical curing protocols compatible with common printable graphene formulations.

  • Evaluate improvements in electrical performance, mechanical integrity, and fabrication throughput.

This approach has the potential to revolutionize the production of flexible and wearable electronics, sensors, and low-cost IoT devices by making graphene processing faster, greener, and more adaptable to large-scale manufacturing.
