About
My name is Ali QASSEM, I am a PhD student at the University of Montpellier and University of the Basque country. i am currntly working on synthesis of nanomaterials from self assembling peptides
I have multi-disciplinary back ground (pharmacy (bachelor) + pharm. biotechnology (master) + chemistry and nanotechnology ( Marie Curie PhD)). I have worked during my master degree on developing an analytical method for measuring the activity of the enzyme (3HAO) in vitro and ex-vivo. which is an enzyme related to neurodegenerative diseases. also during my PhD, my project is focusing on creation of nanomaterials from self assembling peptides (diphenylalanine based peptides) where i studied the aggregation of my peptide and how to enforce and weakening the aggregation of the structures resulting. these researches has been conducted in several labs between Italy, France, Spain.
in addition to my diverse scientific background, i also have an excellent experiences in working in different environments and new places. I have lived in different countries in Europe (Italy, France and Spain) and conducted my experiments in more than 5 different research centers.
