Hamamatsu Photonics is a Japanese company founded in 1953, with its Barcelona office operating since 1991.
Our core competence is photonics, ranging from sensors (photodiodes, image sensors, LEDs, lasers, lamps) to modules and systems such as cameras and spectrometers. Our technologies cover the spectrum from X‑ray to infrared, including terahertz solutions. We serve a wide range of markets, including medical, industrial, and academic sectors.

Hamamatsu Ventures, established in 2020, is the company’s investment arm. Its mission is to drive collaborations, partnerships, and strategic investments in external companies when there is a strong technological or market alignment. We explore new markets and emerging technologies, limited only by Hamamatsu’s foundational expertise in photonics.
