About
The Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MInT) of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia is the national institution responsible for formulating and implementing policies, strategies, and programs that promote science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, and research for sustainable socioeconomic development. MInT provides strategic leadership in strengthening the national innovation ecosystem, supporting research and development, technology transfer, entrepreneurship, and the commercialization of innovations.
The Ministry works closely with government institutions, universities, research organizations, industry, development partners, and the private sector to enhance Ethiopia's scientific and technological capacity and foster an innovation-driven economy. It also leads national initiatives in digital transformation, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and STEM education while promoting inclusive and gender-responsive innovation. Through national, regional, and international partnerships, MInT contributes to achieving Ethiopia's development priorities, the African Union Agenda 2063, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
